GET INVOLVED

Healthy Kids Healthy Michigan (HKHM) is recognized and empowered as the key childhood obesity prevention advocate and catalyst for improvement. The coalition has spearheaded several successful public policy campaigns including legislation to increase healthier food access in low-income communities, increase quality and variety of fresh produce in our school districts, and increase opportunities for Michigan youth to be physically active. While these achievements will have a tremendous impact on future generations, HKHM leadership realizes more can be done to achieve better health outcomes for all children.

Our Mission:

Healthy Kids Healthy Michigan advocates and collaborates on strategic policy initiatives to ensure that all children in Michigan have the opportunity for optimal health and well-being

Our Vision:

A state where all sectors, including every school, community, and
healthcare organization, have implemented and promoted HKHM policy initiatives so that: all
children and youth are healthy, ready-to-learn and free of health risks, and chronic disease; all members of our state live with reduced risk of overweight, obesity and chronic disease; and our state leaves a legacy of health for future generations
